Italian designer Monica Armani enhances the outdoors with new durable versions of her Allure O’ table and Flair O’ chair for B&B Italia. 

A beautiful blending of contemporary style with old-world glamour, the Allure O’ outdoor table maintains the graceful balance between straight and sinuous lines of its interior predecessor despite now being rendered in more robust materials. 

Supported by a conical concrete base, the tabletop – in square or rectangular formats – is made of lightened grey concrete or a glossy glazed stoneware; for the latter, an artisanal technique that involves a slow, single firing process followed by a manual airbrushed glaze application gives the material a unique depth and variety of colour (in glossy clay, glossy dove grey or glossy ocean blue). 

The Flair O’ chair, meanwhile, is geometrically similar to its interior companion but is instead made visually light through its open-air structure and materiality. The chair’s frame is made from lightweight aluminum, interlacing polypropylene ribbons are wrapped around the truncated pyramid base and woven to create a lace-like wraparound back. (Armani used an ancient weaving technique and special circular loom to create the crocheted detailing and collaborated with Cantù-based design studio unPIZZO, specialists in recovering and developing traditional weaving techniques.)

Two padded seat cushions enhance the comfort of the sculptural chair, which is offered in two heights to work seamlessly wih the two heights available for the Allure O’ outdoor table. Flair O’ chair comes in clay, dove grey and night blue to further coordinate with the tables, while multiple fabric options are available for the cushions.
