An homage to the work of Italian artist and sculptor Fausto Melotti, the Anima freestanding light fixture by Davide Groppi has an ultra-slender body that embraces both the absence and essence of light.
Designed by Davide Groppi and Giorgio Rava, the standing lamp can be situated on the floor as well as atop low-slung furniture. Free from superfluous details or accents, Anima also meets at the intersection of Scandinavian and Japanese design, two distinct yet complementary influences.
A piece of sculpture itself, the Anima light fixture is made from lightweight carbon fibre in rich matte black and is composed of a puck-like base from which a wire-thin pole extends, tapering slightly as it rises before finishing in an open circle reminiscent of a hook.
