Seattle-based furniture brand Keeps aims to offer accessible, heirloom-quality modern designs through sustainable methods and materials. It expands on this ethos with the recently introduced Off-Cuts accessories collection, which features two new pieces – Wall Hooks and Apple Box – that are made from solid oak wood leftover from the production of its handsome beds to further minimize its environmental impact. The Wall Hooks (not shown) employ the princples of minimalism and are comprised of small wood cubes that are designed so that one corner sits flush with the wall.
The Apple Box, meanwhile, riffs on the namesake wooden crates traditionally found on film sets. Here, the humble box becomes a multipurpose object that can be used as step stool, side table, plant stand and an extra stool for seating.
The solid oak construction is stained in Natural or Smoked using high-quality plant-based oil (with zero VOC and no solvents) to create a protective – and handsome – barrier against water, staining and UV damage.
Enclosed on all six sides for maximum durability and stability, Apple Box can feature one of four playful emoji-like faces at either ends that give it a spirited and emotional characteristic; the face also forms an easy-to-grasp handle. Stacked in a group or standing alone, Apple Box makes a cute – and useful – addition to any room.
