With their Asteria lamp for Foscarini, Alberto and Francesco Meda reinterpret the archetype of the traditional multi-arm chandelier by taking it back to minimalist compositional elements. 

Asteria has a sleek and rigorous formal language that expertly balances function with decoration. Central to its design is the curved profile of the arms, which are made from extruded aluminum and feature a triangular section that integrates the LED source in the upper portions.

The light emitted by the arms is diffused by a semi-transparent screen that reaches to the edges and guides illumination upwards to establish a comfortable and reflected ambience. At the same time, the light accentuates the profile of the arms, creating a subtle luminous line that seems to float in space. 

A recessed cone baffle at the base of Asteria’s cylindrical body, from where the arms sprout, casts a focused downward beam, which projects glare-free illumination over dining tables, living room lounge setups or anywhere else this type of light is required. 

Equipped with a dual switch, both the upward and downward light can be controlled and dimmed separately, allowing for different atmospheres to be orchestrated. 

A flexible lighting solution, Asteria from Foscarini is offered in multiple configurations, including a single-level version with six arms (in three sizes) and a special Multi version that features 18 arms arranged across three staggered, overlapping levels (this iteration is by request). Dramatic and refined, the suspension lamp has an understated elegance and creates a dynamic scenic presence, no matter the configuration. 

Asteria is available in two distinctive colour options: Dark Red (Rosso Scuro) and Titanium (Titanio).
