Atoll and Shoal are the first-ever 100 per cent silk wallcoverings from New York- and California-based textile design studio Eskayel. When conceiving the two patterns, founder and creative director Shanan Campanaro was inspired by the fascinating world under the sea she experienced on a trip to the Maldives – swimming among the seaweed, coral, shells and schools of fish, she was mesmerized by the watery habitat. This captivation and admiration were translated into the watery and compelling Atoll and Shoal.
A dream-world to be explored, Atoll was informed by a snorkel session and presents a peek into the world of ocean creatures. Offered in six tranquil colourways – Amber, Cay, Coral, Ocean, Reef and Sol.
With Shoal, an imagined school of fish swim along the surface in profile. Campanaro recreated the tropical scene from memory in watercolour first, which lends it a dream-like quality and atmosphere of stillness. Offered in six colourways: Amber, Aqua, Cay, Coral, Ocean and Shell.
Both Atoll and Shoal from Eskayel are 100 per cent silk wallcoverings with paper backing and are printed to order using water latex inks. They each also have linen upholstery counterparts for a cohesive look.
