Able to go anywhere at anytime, the Automatic chair by American multidisciplinary designer Cory Grosser was inspired by a somewhat unlikely source — the philosophizing Peanuts character Linus, or, more specifically, his ever-present security blanket. Lightweight and super soft, the Bernhardt Design seat features an integrated pull strap (in fabric or leather) and spring-loaded, self-locking castors that make it easy to transport wherever a seat may be needed.
Generous in scale and defined by rounded edges, the Automatic chair is made with a moulded foam double shell, which can be upholstered to match or contrast the interior cushions and pull strap. Ideal for open spaces, the chair’s welcoming design can be easily be moved to a quiet corner or arranged in groupings, efficiently balancing both individual and communal seating needs.
