Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

Defined by its unconventional triangular shape, the Bermuda armchair is intended for use in private residences but is durable and versatile enough to be incorporated into such contract environments as offices and hotels.

After studying the ergonomics of seating, Swedish architecture firm Claesson Koivisto Rune designed Bermuda with two upholstered elements – a super-soft back rest and an extra-large removable seat cushion – that, combined with the low-profile rounded wing-like arms, allow for multiple but always comfortable sitting positions.

Made from low-density foam, the removable cushion can be optionally fixed to the seat shell; to keep the piece lightweight, the shell is comprised of a rigid structural polyurethane that is then covered in flexible polyurethane. Reminiscent of scaffolding, the base features three slender legs joined by an equally minimal brace and can be lacquered metal or solid wood.

Furthering the customization options, a wide range of fabrics, leathers and faux leathers are available for the upholstered elements.
