The Boia coffee table by German industrial designer Christian Haas for Favius stands out for its multi-faceted form and compelling tactile contrasts.

The seemingly simple ring that forms the upper portion of the Boia coffee table is actually composed of three curved segments, each one hand-crafted from a single piece of solid ash wood.

An open-pore lacquer finish on the wood highlights its natural grain, with the unique swirling patterns creating an inviting tactile experience.

Forming a perfect circle, the individual segments create a frame for a round piece of smoked tempered glass; the transparency of the coffee table‘s tabletop reveals a glimpse of the three metal legs that support it.

Made from steel, the legs are flat in shape, contrasting with the smooth rounded form of the tabletop frame, and set at an angle. A small loop transitions from the leg, over and around the wood segments.

Both the wood portions and the metal legs of the Boia coffee table from Favius are finished with the same matte colourway (powder coat for the metal and open-pore lacquer for the wood) for a seamless and uniform look. The three colourways available are: Bottle Green, Oxide Red and Jet Black.
