For the Bun armchair for Wittmann, Milan-based designer Federica Biasi took creative inspiration from her world travels, specifically the distinctive shape – and namesake – of the Asian Bao bun.

Intended for laid-back relaxation, the Bun armchair has an inviting profile and features a generously rounded seat and back to form a welcoming embrace for the sitter. Understated yet not inconspicuous, the design can be integrated seamlessly into a variety of settings.
Set on a swivel base, the Bun armchair encourages low-energy movement in living rooms and corporate lounges alike. The well-balanced proportions of the chair conceal the swivel mechanism to not distract the eye from the overall design.

Appearing as one solid volume, the Bun Armchair expertly merges Biasi’s signature design approach with Wittmann’s mandate to offer extremely comfortable lounge furniture. Biasi’s initial drawings were deliberately simple and clean, resulting in a design that would not allow any room for error.

Always focused on high-quality materials and processes, the craftspeople at Wittmann applied their know-how to create an extremely comfortable seat with a pocket-spring core and multi-layered polymousse structure. Two wide piped edge cords run parallel from the base up to where they deviate in direction to wrap around the seat, an effect that lends the Bun armchair a tailored look.
A wide range of upholstery fabrics and leathers are available.
