Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

Calma collection by Helena Clunies-Ross Design for ROOM

A collaboration between international studio Helena Clunies-Ross Design and New York furniture and lighting brand ROOM, the exclusive Calma collection of bespoke furniture pieces harmoniously marries sophistication with functionality.

The Calma collection of residential furniture includes a sofa, day bed, dining chair, dining table, coffee table and console.

Timber screens wrap around the corners of the Calma sofa and extend across the back, creating a supportive, cocoon-like enclosure. Balancing between relaxed comfort and structural elegance, the sofa is meticulously proportioned and upholstered in a soft linen.

The Calma daybed is also upholstered in soft linen, and places its soft cushioned volume atop a graceful timber base; gently curving upwards, the base lends an impression of floating above the ground. A versatile piece, the daybed also functions as a sleeper sofa thanks to its removable back cushion.

Dining chair

The Calma dining chair expresses a refined simplicity, one accentuated by an ebonized walnut frame and smooth leather upholstery. The tapered backrest is paired with slender timber legs for support.

Crafted from solid ebonized walnut, the Calma dining table has a decidedly art deco influence, evident in its antique brass accents. The slender tapered pedestal holds an oval tabletop, with a generous surface being comfortably accommodating.

The Calma console strengthens the art deco influence with two statuesque legs made from curved burnished steel panels. The shape of the legs is such that they reflect light between each other and also cleverly conceal electrical cords.

On a smaller scale, the Calma coffee table celebrates the beauty of contrasts – pairing organic shapes with clean lines, and a sculpted metal base with a slender timber tabletop.

The Calma collection from ROOM is available in ebonized walnut, smoky walnut and honeyed or bleached oak.
