Vico Magistretti’s Carimate chair from 1959 was recently reissued by Fritz Hansen in a limited-edition run to honour what would have been the designer’s 100th birthday.

Designed for the Italian golf club it was named after (where it’s still in use today), the Carimate’s bold personality and detailed construction make it a truly special item. The flag line seat is inspired by the original straw seat, honouring the original aesthetic, while small changes have been made to the shape for comfort.

Every chair is individually numbered for authenticity and longevity. A brass plaque under each seat marks its unique number. All in all, the Carimate chair is a unique design collector’s piece.
