Made from upcycled polymer waste sourced from LightArt’s parent company, 3form, the Coil lighting collection represents two years of research and development in making 3D printed fixtures that look and feel spun pottery.

Sorting the colours of the waste through new technology, the company came up with black and white version. That monochrome palette, with a matte finish, lends itself well to the seven classic pendant shapes chosen by the design team that are focused on distinct geometry and curvature. The textured finish, inherent to the additive manufacturing process, is complemented by subtle algorithmic adjustments to achieve a handmade, one-of-a-kind feel.

After launching Coil, the brand hopes to expand its foray into upcycling plastic waste – the LightArt facility strives to become a manufacturer of goods that are net positive in climate, waste and energy.
