Tasked by Sweden’s Karl Andersson & Söner to develop a comfortable folding chair, product design studio KaschKasch came up with Colo — named for the designers’ home base of Cologne, Germany.
Combining the sensation of natural wood with shapely lines, Colo features a solid wood frame (oak or ash) and stainless steel hardware detailing.
Ideal for use in both breakout spaces and permanent setups — from cafes and restaurants to conference rooms and exhibition spaces — the lightweight seat folds to only 72-millimetres thick and is easily moved around thanks to a custom trolley that can store up to 12 chairs. The storage trolley comes in painted black with metal handles and locking wheels.
Optional elements include cushioned seat pads, upholstered in either fabric or leather, and link fittings. Solid wood 160-millimetre-deep suspension brackets that can be finished in the same colour as the chairs and each hold two chairs can also be purchased. Oslo is available in natural oiled finishes, 11 standard stains and two white glazes.
