With the Dala collection for Dedon, American designer Stephen Burks reinterprets pre-industrial artisanship and ad-hoc seating arrangements. Originally launched in 2012, the brand recently introduced a Club chair version to the series of bulbous outdoor elements, which already includes a loveseat, lounge chair, pouffe, side table and planters.
The lightweight and portable pieces are built around a powder-coated aluminum mesh frame that is woven with an ecological fibre made from recycled food and drink packaging blended with recyclable polyethylene.
Available in five two-tone colourways named for the countries that inspired them – Rioja, Ubud, Cuba, Ibiza and Bahamas – the chairs and loveseat feature a comfortable cushion that can specified in a wide range of all-weather fabrics to coordinate or contrast the tactile frames.
