Inspired by the characteristic shape of amphora (minus the two handles) French designer Christophe Pillet has created the Dawn and Precious vases for Kreoo.
Featuring shapely profiles and silky matte finishes, both the Dawn and Precious vases from Kreoo are carved from solid blocks of marble and appointed with unique textural reliefs.
With the Precious vase, Christophe Pillet makes a contemporary nod to ancient Mediterranean civilizations. The designer and Kreoo selected Ceppo di Sicilia and Broccatello Viola marbles as the stone of choice to reinterpret the archaic vessel in a new material dimension. (Breccia Viola and Arabescato versions are also options.)
Three different vases (small, medium and large) are included in the Precious vase family from Kreoo, each one carved from a solid block of marble, hollowed out and given a subtle furrow by milling the upper portion. This considered detail enrichens the sinuous profile and accentuates to the stone’s compelling veining and earthy colouring.
The Dawn vase on the other hand has a more sculptural presence and is an expression of Kreoo’s expert craftsmanship. The simple yet elegant vessel features a slightly tapered profile and three-dimensional textural overlay – a soft grid moulded in natural stone that is then sculpted and chiselled by hand to highlight the beauty and depth of the marble.
Two thin bands at the base and upper edge in the same type of marble frame the graphic relief and create a monolithic-like volume. Dawn is available in two sizes and four marbles – Bianco del Re, Bianco Perla, Bianco Carrara and Nero Marquina.
Both the Dawn and Precious vases from Kreoo are suitable for use indoors and outdoors.
