Dogma bookshelf and partition by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo

The Dogma bookshelf and partition designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo plays with idea of using simple shapes and repetition to create a variety of visual effects.

The Dogma bookshelf and partition from Bonaldo features uprights at varying angles

Built around a basic element – a waterdrop-shaped upright – whose form is repeated, but at differing intervals and angles resulting in changing expressions depending on how and where the bookshelf and partition is viewed.

Three modules of uprights are available that can be combined in varying widths to achieve the different perspectives, from rounded and robust to thin and angular. Each arrangement plays with shadow and light in unique ways, adding another layer of visual intrigue.

Bonaldo’s freestanding Dogma bookshelf and partition can be used against a wall or placed in the middle of a room to act as a divider in an open space.

The metal uprights (in two standard painted colourways, Glossy Caramel or Matte Racing Green) sit on Canaletto walnut or coal oaks shelves, which can be veneered or lacquered to match or contrast. Three sizes are available.
