Known for its artful and design-driven approach to everyday objects, Brooklyn- and Columbus-based brand Areaware has added its first light fixture – the Doko lamp by New York’s Talbot & Yoon – to its portfolio of offerings. 

Designed by founders Mark Talbot and Youngjin Yoon under their TOON design practice, the Doko table lamp is intended to evoke feelings of empathy and playfulness with its use of soft geometry and anthropomorphic form – which places the perfectly spherical bulb atop the shoulders of its curiously shaped base. 

Made from high-quality ceramic, Doko’s weighted base is offered in four vibrant colourways – Blue, Glossy Cream, Pink and Yellow – with each boasting its own unique personality. 

The frosted glass bulb is dimmable by an unobtrusive and sleek brass knob; the cord is wrapped in soft fabric that matches the chosen colourway.
