With the Dome collection, Faro Barcelona revisits the architectural minimalism of the 1970s with a contemporary approach. The lighting fixtures pair sculptural geometric forms with atmospheric illumination to complement modern interiors.
Exploring the forms and proportions that defined the ‘70s, the Dome collection from Faro Barcelona pays homage while also developing a new visual language more relevant for today’s aesthetics. Rounded silhouettes define the series, which includes table lamps in two sizes, a floor lamp, a wall light and a pendant in two sizes. The multiple fixtures share a refined geometry that allows for continuity across different scales and settings.
Developed by Faro Lab, the brand’s in-house design collective, the Dome collection is centred on a simple geometric gesture: a rounded opal diffuser expertly balanced against a slender structural frame.
While the form of the fixtures recalls the spheres, curves and bold geometries that defined the 1970s, the fixtures have a restrained and clean-lined silhouette that ensures the designs do not feel overly retro.
Made from PMMA, the opal diffusers soften and filter light to produce a warm, uniform glow without a harsh glare, ensuring the lights contribute positively to their surroundings. The Satin Black-painted aluminum framework offers a graphic contrast to the Glossy White or Beige finish of the opal diffusers.
The Dome collection from Faro Barcelona is suitable for use in residential settings as well as in workspaces, hospitality venues, retail spaces and other architectural environments.
