For its recent lighting collection Dome Nomad, Italian design studio Chiaramonte Marin took inspiration from the many domes found throughout Venice. Replicating the familiar architectural form on a small scale, the outdoor lantern is made from multiple layers of hand-blown molten glass by master glassmakers using centuries-old techniques.
The portable Dome Nomad lamp by Brokis is fitted with a stainless steel base (that neatly contains the electronics and a magnetic charging connector) and large top ring, which can be used together to easily pick up and transport the fixture to where it’s wanted.
Two textures of glass are offered – smooth and rippled – and each comes in four colourways: transparent, grey smoke, brown smoke or opaline.
To complement the shade hues, the metal components are available in copper, brass, brushed stainless steel and powder-coat matte black. Available in two sizes, Brokis’ Dome Nomad lamp complies with IP44 safety and technical standards for outdoor use and the LED source can withstand freezing temperatures.
