Dyson WashG1

The latest in floor-care technology from Dyson is the Dyson WashG1, the company’s first-ever solely dedicated wet floor cleaner that adds a new realm of high-tech household appliances to its portfolio.

The Dyson WashG1 is Dyson's latest in floor-care technology

Expertly engineered, the Dyson WashG1 uses a combination of hydration, absorption and extraction technologies to make cleaning up extremely easy and effective.

The lightweight cordless Dyson WashG1 stick appliance is part super mop, part vacuum, eliminating the need to vacuum up debris before mopping. Its sleek design includes two highly absorbent microfibre filament rollers that counter-rotate in order to pick up spills, dirt and even dried-on stains in one swipe; each roller has 64,800 filaments per square centimetre and is individually powered by a pulse-modulated pump that evenly distributes water from the clean water tank across 26 precisely positioned hydration points. The special dense fibres and consistent distribution of clean water works to soak up liquid spills while at the same time whisking away the dry bits, including hair.

New separation technology in the cordless, rechargeable WashG1 automatically and immediately divides the wet and dry debris, resulting in mess-free and hygienic cleaning (read, no touching the dirty water). This works in two ways: Dirty water is extracted from the rollers by extraction plates and collected in a 0.8-litre tank while secondary nylon-bristled inner brush bars remove the dry dirt and sequesters it in the removable debris tray.

The intuitive WashG1 allows the user to select the hydration level required, depending on the type of floor being cleaned and the intensity of the spill – modes include low, medium and high, which run continuously once chosen and each mode has three additional sensitivity settings for further fine-tuning. Finally, a separate power boost mode button soaks each roller with a maximum amount of water for very stubborn stains. A self-cleaning mode takes care of the unit itself.

Spanning the full width of the head, the rollers provide edge-to-edge cleaning and maneuver around curves and tight corners effortlessly.
