Designed by Vienna-based studio EOOS for Carl Hansen & Søn, the Embrace outdoor lounge series balances soft upholstered volumes with sleek and sturdy wood frames to bring a laid-back comfort to exterior settings. 

Originally designed by EOOS as an indoor collection in 2016, the Embrace outdoor series from Carl Hansen & Søn brings the clean lines and contemporary casualness to both private and public patios, terraces and poolside.

Included in the Embrace outdoor series are seven standard modules that can be used to create customized seating arrangements that range from straight two-, three- and four-seaters, each of which can be augmented with a chaise lounge or table platform. 

The seating elements are made with a durable untreated FSC-certified teak frame (which will patina to a soft silvery hue over time) and hand-woven flat rope back and armrest in dark charcoal, which combine to give the modules an elegant yet relaxed appearance. 

All of the cushions and pillows in the Embrace outdoor lounge series from Carl Hansen & Søn are made from quick-dry foam and upholstered in weather-resistant Agora Life textiles; the palette of colourways available for the pillows and cushions is inspired by the Scandinavian landscape and includes: Life Oat, Panama Hollin and Panama Alga for both, plus three more for the pillows, Liso Duna, Ritmo Laguna and Soul Grey Sand. 

Also part of the Embrace outdoor lounge series is a low-profile lounge table with a distinct and floating expression that is akin to the existing outdoor dining table. Carted from FSC-certified untreated teak, the table will age as gracefully as the modular seating. 

The Embrace outdoor lounge table is comprised of 43 meticulously cut pieces that are mounded on the slender steel frame in a daisy formation, which lends a graphic and impactful visual presence. A solid wood base keeps the table steady and grounded.
