Taking its sustainability approach to a new level, Paola Lenti has created a palette of 100 per cent natural materials for its Eres collection of outdoor furniture. The pieces incorporate linen, hemp, bamboo, raffia, igusa grass and abaca, all of which were procured from providers who adhere to the same rigorous standards as the Italian furniture maker: All the materials are harvested without chemical additives and have intrinsic beauty.
Consisting of bamboo sticks fastened together using jute ribbon, the Shibui e Shibusa lounge chairs and chaise lounges are unique and playful: Shibusa has a tatami mat-like surface made from igusa grass, while Shibui includes a large platform that can be placed atop another pedestal or suspended from an overhead structure.
The collection also includes Frei, three-seater and sectional modules made from bamboo panels and linen and hemp covers, the Vespucci armchairs and sofas that have a sassafras wood frame and a removable structural cover made from linen twine, and the Hiro armchairs and chaise longues.
The entire Eres collection (which means Earth), is available in a palette of powdery pastels.
