Eric Wakerly Modern Flock Fabrics

Wallpaper and textile designer Erica Wakerly recently launched Modern Flock, a new collection of commercial-grade fabrics that complements her wallpaper range with the same name. Comprised of two buzzy and energetic patterns, the new Modern Flock fabrics are a playful alternative for commercial settings and consist of two patterns – Scoop and Buzz.

Now based in the seaside town of Margate along England’s southeast coast, designer Erica Wakerley applies traditional production processes for her range of wallpapers and fabrics, while injecting a modern element to each design.

With Scoop and Buzz, that comes through with playful aesthetics that combine neutral tones with boisterous and bright colourways in recognition of how hospitality spaces are shifting away from stuffy corporate looks and adopting more personality-driven designs.

Scoop features undulating and scalloped lines in contrasting colours, lending vibrancy and movement to upholstery applications. A cotton/nylon chenille, it is suitable for both commercial and residential use.

Buzz, meanwhile, has a dynamic deconstructed hexagon design that resembles animated zigzags along the surface of the cotton/nylon chenille. Its reverse side can also be used to cover cushions and other soft accents.
