Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

Five Elements Luum Textiles

Designed by Suzanne Tick, the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles features five impactful styles that were inspired by the “the eternal balance of earth, water, fire, air and space.” Aimed at introducing natural forces to the built environment, the Five Elements collection is defined by a mindful materiality and expressive designs. Made from responsibly sourced fibres and an ecological manufacturing process, the upholstery textiles, wall coverings and drapes marry luxury performance with a reduced environmental impact.

With textures inspired by landscapes, patterns that reflect the rhythm and movement of water, colour pairings that draw from flame and light and weaves that are open and airy, the Five Elements collection includes: Spatial Element, Earthbound, Confluence, Radiant Flux and Chenille Appeal.

Spatial Element from the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles
Spatial Element

A large-scale, tri-colour pattern, Spatial Element is a playful reference to early industrial punch cards and translates the code into a geometric motif. Woven from recycled polyester fibres, the upholstery fabric is available in eight bleach-cleanable colours: Starfield, Asteroid Belt, Moonlet, Zenith, Lightyear, Cosmic Dust, Solar Storm and Deep Sky.

Earthbound from the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles
Earthbound

Using pre- and post-consumer garment waste, Earthbound is a true example of renewal. Combining recycled straight and chenille yarns, the upholstery fabric has a woven dimensional surface texture adorned with multicolour flecks. The textile is available in 16 colours: Native Metal, Sinter, Pure Mineral, Moonglade, Porcelain, Playa, Fallow, Sunstone, Lush, Plume, Terra Cotta, Abyssal Plain, Blue Soil, Greenbark, Groundcover and Riverbank.

Confluence from the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles
Confluence

At once subtle and impactful, Confluence is a tonal, large-scale pattern with an understated tactile presence. Taking inspiration from waterways meeting, the jacquard weave structure emerges and dissolves, lending movement when directly glued to walls. The bleach-cleanable surface material is available in six colours: Tigris, Ganges, Rhine, Thames, Seine and Rio Grande.

Radiant Flux from the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles
Radiant Flux

A wide-width iridescent drapery, Radiant Flux seems to dance in the light. It can be hung railroaded or off-the-bolt and its lightweight sheer construction has a brilliant luminosity and dimension. Each colour is comprised of two complementary weft yarns to achieve a polychromatic vertical ribbed effect. Available in 12 colours: Sirius, Star Cluster, Milky Way, Venus, Libra, Lyra, Perseus, Cassiopeia, North Star, Polaris, Gemini and Orion.

Chenille Appeal from the Five Elements collection from Luum Textiles
Chenille Appeal

The plush and soft surface of Chenille Appeal begs to be touched. Made from recycled chenille yarns (recycled polyester and SeaQual Yarn from marine plastic), the rich texture is the result of lighter-coloured weft yarns overlapping with darker warp colours. The bleach-cleanable upholstery is available in 12 colours: Storm Cloud, Silver Spring, Mallow, Flaxen, Prickly Pear, Russet, Crottle, Celery, Arctic Moss, Blue Fescue, Water Garden and Evening Rain.
