The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Fluit chairs by Actiu

Informed by the design of a 16th-century Dutch sailing ship, the Fluit chair by Actiu boasts a streamlined and universal style that suits a variety of contract and hospitality spaces. A first-time collaboration with Italy’s Archirivolto Design studio, the seat is 100 per cent sustainable in both its material make-up and manufacturing process.

Each chair is made with 80 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic from the agri-food industry (namely fruit and vegetable crates), reinforced with 20 per cent fibreglass, also recycled; the industrial process of gas-injection is used for fabrication, which achieves a high level of resistance and stability and a soft-to-the-touch finish.

Available with or without arms and an optional padded seat cushion, Fluit is stackable up to six (for the armless version) and is suitable for use indoors and outdoors (in covered areas). A range of matte colourways are offered, including white, grey, mustard, green and black.
