Product and industrial design studio Jones & Partners collaborated with contract furniture-maker Howe to develop the Folding Surfaces collection, a series of double-folding bench desks that support nomadic and hybrid workers. 

The mobile double-folding bench desks in the Folding Surfaces collection allow users to adjust and adapt their working environments to meet fluctuating needs and capacities – from creative brainstorming sessions and presentations to casual gatherings and energetic meetings. 

Bench desks withing the Folding Surfaces collection feature cleverly integrated power solutions that are paired with portable batteries and supported by mobile power units, which provides power access along every edge. 

A coordinating and mobile power horse accessory extends the Folding Surfaces family, bringing an extra power source (battery-powered or soft-wired) to the literal table. Wrapped in a PET felt cover and set on slender steel-tube legs that match the tables themselves, the horses come as single or double units to meet any need. 

Optimizing workspace operations, Folding Surfaces can bring a substantial work surface to smaller or downsized offices, and then folded and tucked away to free up space when not in use; the width of the tables (approximately 187 centimetres) allows for three to be nested for compact storage.  The double-folding table comes in two sizes and can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. Surface options include melamine, laminate and natural wood veneers, with both sides being treated to the same finish for a completely polished look even when folded; the central frame is made from steel with four round-tube bent legs and four lockable castors.
