The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

A pared back seating collection, Folk by PearsonLloyd emphasizes a simplicity that belies its two-year development process. The chairs’ seamless design is void of any visible fixings and can be easily assembled from its flatpack state.

The low-profile and contoured backrest offers comfortable support, while it’s compact design allows it to be stacked for out-of-the-way storage. Available as a chair (with an overall height of 79 centimetres) and a stool (110 centimetres), Folk comes in a wood, metal or plastic and in a range of colourways that can be mixed and matched to create custom combinations or monotone configurations (upholstered versions can also be specified).

Originally intended for bistro seating, the seat’s versatile aesthetic works just as well in office, lobby and residential settings.
