Humanscale is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its iconic Freedom task chair by legendary industrial designer Niels Diffrient with a limited-edition of the high-performance ergonomic office solution, the Freedom 25.
A total of 250 versions of the Freedom 25 Anniversary Signature Edition task chair available, with each one maintaining the high standards for intuitive ergonomic comfort of the original from Humanscale.
Recognizing the need for workers to be able to swiftly and effortlessly move and shift naturally, Niels Diffrient reimagined the traditional task chair – which required manual manipulation of knobs and levers – as one that can instinctively adapt to the users needs.
Promoting a healthier lifestyle, the Freedom task chair was the first to introduce a weight-sensitive recline mechanism that automatically adjusts to different individual users. The revolutionary task chair also has synchronous armrests that move with the user to provide constant and reliable support; a gel-padded seat cushion for even weight distribution; and a dynamic headrest that ensures a comfortable seat no matter the position.
The original Freedom task chair by Niels Diffrient was a trail-blazer of office design, and its popularity has never waned. Features of the limited-edition Freedom 25 task chair include: exclusive finishes and detailing, that included upgraded aluminum components on the headrest and handles; and an upholstered back shell.
Furthering the exclusivity of the anniversary edition, each of the Freedom 25 task chair features commemorative 25th-anniversary branding with Niels Diffrient’s signature and edition number; a personalized certificate of authenticity; and White Glove delivery for shipping across the United States and Canada.
Along with the Freedom 25 edition, Humanscale will add Freedom to its Ocean Collection, with select Freedom Ocean configurations that are composed of two pounds of reclaimed ocean plastic like habitat-damaging discarded fishing nets.
