The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Gandula outdoor seating by Oiside

Taking its name from the Spanish word for lazy or leisurely, the Gandula collection of outdoor seating by Oiside updates the traditional foldable deckchair – a ubiquitous sight in the Mediterranean – with durable materials and a streamlined design.

Lightweight yet structurally sound, the chairs replace the commonly used canvas sling with high-tech thermo-sealed mesh fabric, which breathes easily and allows air to pass through without causing the “sail-effect” that can happen in windy conditions. The slender frame is made from either aluminum (in 10 powder-coated colourways and finishes) or iroko wood (treated with a water-based varnish) or a custom combination of the two. All components are hardy enough to be left outdoors permanently.

Available as single or double seats, the deckchairs feature a reclining headrest that can be locked in four different positions; an integrated lock system prevents the chairs from suddenly snapping shut.

The collection also includes a coordinating side table and a supported wall stand that can store up to four deckchairs within a compact footprint. Eight colourways are available for the sling, ranging from bright yellow and red to muted green and grey and more.
