Generation 4 is the latest collection on offer from California-based NanaWall, an innovative leader in opening glass wall technology. Combining a sleek design with quality performance, the new product family is the result of four decades of research and raises the bar for folding glass wall solutions.
With aluminum, wood and clad frames and ultra-thin profiles that measure in at less than five centimetres, the Generation 4 collection from NanaWall creates a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors while also maintaining exceptional energy efficiency, weather performance and ease of operation.
Comprising eight systems for the FourFold and SixFold panels, Generation 4 is capable of spanning 30 metres and allows for unlimited opening widths with floating panels (unattached to the side jamb) that can stack to the left, right or centre of the opening.
The eight systems within the collection are: NW Aluminum 640 and 840, which offer high thermal performance and taller heights with super-slim aluminum profiles; NW Wood 540, featuring folding glass walls framed with slim-profiled premium solid wood that is sustainably harvested; NW Clad 740, comprised of slim solid wood profiles on the interior and durable aluminum profiles on the exterior; NW Acoustical 645 and 545, which provide superior acoustical buffering with the choice of solid wood or aluminum profiles; and NW Reinforced 647 and 847, intended for mid- and high-rise buildings to meet higher-wind loads and limited deflection required.
Utilizing a Gothic Arch Roller, the folding glass walls offer 90 per cent opening usability and all systems in Generation 4 are certified for air, water, structural, operation, acoustics and forced entry performance. Further, four low-profile sill options with removable inserts reduce tripping concerns (and the likelihood of high-heeled shoes getting caught in the tracks) and a multipurpose frame insert effectively conceals the frame attachment for a sleek finish while also hiding security and lighting cables. As for energy efficiency, the glass walls use Bionic Turtle technology that ensures an insulating thermal break within the frame.
The Generation 4 family from NanaWall is offered in 50 standard finishes for the aluminum and clad systems and five standard finishes for the wood and clad systems (Sapele Mahogany, Meranti, Pine, Western Hemlock and Red Grandis); the stainless-steel hardware options can be finished in Black Titanium or Brushed Satin.
