The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Taking its name from the shape of its armrests, which appear has a half or “broken” heart (a full heart is formed when two sofas are placed side-by-side), the Heartbreaker sofa system by Johannes Torpe was built to stand up to use in hospitality and contract environments but has an elegance that is also perfectly suited for residential settings.

Made from stress-resistant polyurethane foam, the voluminous piece is set on a thin polished metal base, which lightens is visual impact.

Available in a variety of upholstery fabrics and leathers, the system includes straight, left-corner and right-corner modules that can be configured together to make L-shaped arrangements.
