Italian designer Luca Cimarra explored the concept of an island when creating the new Itaca bathroom collection for Ceramica Cielo.

Expanding on the idea of an island being a land mass surrounded by water or a world in itself, concluded yet open, Luca Cimarra developed a metaphor to translate this into the bathroom, an increasingly intimate domestic space.

The Itaca bathroom collection from Ceramica Cielo is meant to be interpreted as “a symbol for homecoming and reconnection to one’s roots” and consists of an entire family of sculptural ceramic elements with strong visual impact.

Included in the Itaca bathroom collection is the showcase cylindrically shaped freestanding washbasin, which can be combined with customizable wooden storage units. Standing out from the wall, the sanitaryware elements (a toiled and bidet) have simple and primordial forms that integrate seamlessly with existing architecture. The two sanitaryware pieces are offered in floor-standing and suspended models.

An oval washbasin is also part of the Itaca bathroom collection, and it is available in both a countertop version or a freestanding one when paired with the coordinating column.

The Itaca bathroom collection designed by Luca Cimarra for Ceramica Cielo is available in a wide range of glossy and matte colourways from the brand’s Essential Colors, Le Terre di Cielo and Le Acque di Cielo collections.
