Jetty:Mod

Jetty:Mod, a modular collection of sofa seating, interconnecting tables, screens and accessories, is grounded in Allsteel‘s Work Geometry principle — the human-centric consideration of posture, fit and the tools you use to be productive and comfortable. The collection embodies this premise in supporting individual and group activities while optimizing posture and comfort. Jetty:Mod’s functionality acknowledges the fundamental differences in work versus lounge positions, incorporating appropriate seating options for each realm of work.

As a modern, modular collection, Jetty:Mod can be modified to fit the varying needs of those in the office. Allsteel believes that the key to comfortable seating is the correct relationship between seat dimensions and activity, which prompted the design of Jetty:Mod to accommodate both work and lounge postures.

The work option, featuring a higher and shallower seat, positions the user for active work mode; whereas the lounge option, with a lower but deeper seat, initiates a relaxed sitting position. Jetty:Mod capitalizes on the correlation of comfort and productivity through its posture offerings, along with additional features to make the workspace function efficiently.

Jetty:Mod plays a key role in the newly opened Allsteel D.C. Design Lab. This dynamic, hands-on environment explores the future of the workplace and reflects the brand’s “Living in Beta” philosophy. The space operates as a living laboratory — an agile, evolving space where experimentation meets intentionality.

Created in partnership with Gensler D.C., the Design Lab brings together physical space, research, and human-centred design to support meaningful workplace transformation. Jetty:Mod anchors the Lab’s Social Crossroads zone, which fosters casual interaction and transitions between work modes. Visitors can engage in conversation, decompress between meetings or participate in impromptu gatherings.
