Belgium furniture maker Ethnicraft recently added a new product category to its portfolio – kilim rugs. A collaboration with Antwerp-based Ashtari Carpets, the hand-woven designs are made using traditional weaving techniques and quality-selected yarns.

Each of the seven pieces in the inaugural series is comprised of 100 per cent locally sourced sheep wool, with the natural oil content of the tactile material offering warmth and versatility along with durability.

Styles range from muted solids in shades of sand, grey and terracotta to flat-woven Mazandarans with graphically staggered bars in cobalt, blue and black and black and white dots.
