To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Kipu collection of colourful pouffes for Lapalma, Oslo-based design studio Anderssen & Voll has introduced the Kipu Club, a coordinating sculptural lounge chair.
Enhancing the comfort of the original pouffes – which resemble river-worn pebbles and are offered in a variety of heights, colours and shapes – the Kipu Club features an upholstered ergonomic backrest that lends the sitter support, protection and a gentle embrace.
When the Kipu pouffes were first added to Lapalma’s portfolio, it marked one of the brand’s first forays into the lounge seating sector; intended for workspaces, lobbies, waiting areas as well the home environment, the pouffes could be effortlessly arranged and rearranged as informal gathering points. Designers Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll recalled childhood memories of gathering pebbles on the beach, smoothed by the waves they had a special feeling when held in the hand – or slipped into the pocket – and recreated this essential summer pastime with the versatile pouffes.
Now, with the addition of the wrap-around backrest, the Kipu Club from Lapalma makes these settings that much more enjoyable. Generous proportions enhance the nest-like design and its shapely profile – both informal and elegant – works in almost any setting.
A wide range of upholstery options are available for Kipu Club, which has a removable cover for ease of cleaning.
