Dallas-based abstract artist Jill Elliott founded Color Kind Studio in 2020 as a new creative outlet for her work. An expression of Elliott’s love of nature, travel and colour, the wallpaper collections embrace a painterly approach and introduce unique perspectives to interiors – and the most-recently launched Landscape series is no exception.
Taking inspiration from the coastlines and mountain views of both Italy and Southern California, Elliott first composed a series of original small watercolour paintings that formed the basis for the Landscape collection.
The result is a compelling pattern informed by universally recognized elements of nature – from waves, mountaintops to forest hiking trails and deep canyons – that are rendered in three soothing colourways – Spectrum, Verde and Canyon.
While Spectrum borrows notes from the lush hillsides and sun-bleached buildings of the Italian coastline and Verde interprets the rich grasses and varied, silvery greens of succulents and other Southern California vegetation, Canyon is defined by the calm and inviting palette of the American southwest.
As with all Color Kind Studio collections, Landscape wallpaper is digitally printed on clay-coated paper by a family-owned operation in Connecticut.
