The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Brooklyn-based lighting studio RBW’s latest addition to its portfolio is Latis, as high-performance linear system that offers multifaceted functionality in a minimalist profile.

Referencing a structural I-beam, the extruded aluminum fixtures with acrylic lenses have engineered internal drivers and visually integrated sensors to offer multiple illumination solutions. Ranging from a narrow beam to a 4.8-metre span, the system means fewer fixtures are needed and a lower wattage is used while maintaining maximum spatial coverage.

With the capability to be installed as a single beam or configured in hexagonal, zigzagging and square arrangements (joined by easy-to-use angle connectors), the scalable designs can be specified with direct and indirect lighting combinations in different temperatures.

Four linear runs are available, ranging from 1.2 to 2.4 metres in length, in a standard palette of five colourways (Black, Blue, Natural, Chalk Pink and Matte White) with custom-colouring also available.
