The newly launched Light collection from Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering was developed through extensive research into the health and wellness benefits of natural light. Ideal for use in high-traffic settings like healthcare and workspaces, the textiles in the Light collection combine biophilic elements and high-performance materials.
Bringing much-needed warmth and a human element to institutional spaces, the six textiles (Flitter, Abeam, Promise, Silica Altair), two privacy curtains (Privet and Liven) and two wallcoverings (La Foret and la Foret Stripe) in the Light collection translate the healing properties of natural light into elegant and hospitality-inspired patterns that are intended to promote wellbeing and a positive experience. Influenced by the way light filters through both nature and the built environment, each design is intentional and dynamic and can be easily combined to complement one another.
Playing with shadow and light in a way reminiscent of sunlight filtering through trees, Flitter has a captivating dappled beauty. The upholstery fabric features obvious contrast with complementary colours scattered across its surface with movement and depth. Flitter is offered in eight colourways: Ethereal, Frosted, Magnolia, Mangrove, Shadow, Sienna, Sunlit and Treetop.
Nodding to art deco motifs, Abeam interprets the geometry and symmetry of light cast through architectural facades into a simple yet dimensional graphic. The meticulously crafted matelassé construction results in a sculptural surface and is suitable for a variety of upholstery applications. Abeam is offered in nine colourways: Azure, Blaze, Breezeway, Nightfall, Shine, Skyward, Sunrise, Twilight and Twinkle.
A multicoloured Crypton fabric, Promise blends distinct bouclé yarns to create a soft hand and intriguing interplay of colour and texture. Studded with subtle flecks of neutrals and colours, the dynamic near-solid Promise practical and versatile and is offered in eight colourways: Atlantic, Ember, Lapis, Loden, Moss, Shale, Stucco and Surf.
The most graphic of the bunch, Silica Altair translates the gentle swirl of falling leaves into a semi-structured geometric motif. An abstract take on leaves and petals, the biophilic design has a smooth hand and is made from 100 per cent Silicone, making it an ideal option for spaces that require professional-grade cleaning. Silica Altair is offered in eight colourways: Dewdrop, Feldspar, Midnight, Skylight, Spectrum, Verdant, Sunset and Tidal.
One of two new privacy curtains, Privet is defined by a cascading leaf pattern with gradient transitions that add scale and depth. Intended to bring a sense of security, peace and calm, Privet is tranquil and comforting and offered in six colourways: Garden, Meadow, Pond, Skylit, Sunspell and Woodland.
With a large-scale grid of gradated colour blocks overlayed with a cascading flowering pattern, Liven successfully blends the geometry of a handmade quilt with an organic expression. The symmetry and nature-inspired design instill a feeling of ease and safety in healthcare settings; Liven is offered in six colourways: Blue Sky, Cascade, Dusk, Harvest, Lavender and Summer.
Designed to be hung vertically, the two wallcoverings – La Foret and La Foret Stripe – feature organic striped patterns inspired by multilayered woodgrain textures. From a distance, the horizontal lines of La Foret Stripe create an ombre effect that comes into clearer focus as one gets closer, while the vertical stripes of La Foret reads as a more nuanced solid. Both are Type II vinyl. Each are offered in a range of nature-inspired colourways.
The textiles in the Light collection are made from either a blend of post-consumer recycled polyester and nylon or 100 per cent post-consumer recycled polyester or Silicone and many are bleach-cleanable.
