Philippe Nigro Marechiaro System AB Living

A highly versatile collection by French designer Philippe Nigro, Marechiaro can be adapted to suit a variety of needs and wants: The sinuous solid ash wood slatted panels can be used as freestanding room dividing screens, shelving units and semi-enclosed cabinets.

The modular shelving and storage system, manufactured by Italy’s A&B Living, are defined by vertical triangular-shaped boards that run straight or in a wave, creating a structure that offers privacy or division while maintaining visual transparency and light permeation.

As a shelving unit, the slats of Marechiaro are framed within a sturdy and clean-lined ash wood frame and are finished in a stunning gradient colour effect of hand-applied blended inks, in a range of different shade options; optional shelves and accessories holders are available in the same colourways. The shelving can be combined with bespoke wood panels to serve as panelling or as a divider screen that wraps around a room to inject a sense of separation without entirely closing off a space. Custom sizing is available.

With the ash-framed open-triangular cabinet version, the vertical elements can be finished in straw marquetry in a chevron pattern. Each strip features two different colours of straw on the two outer faces. The arrangement changes depending on the angle it’s approached, adding an expected dynamism to the piece.

The shelves and accessories holders available for the system are offered in a variety of sizes and shapes. Marechiaro is suitable for use at home and in corporate environments as well as in lobby, lounge and waiting areas.
