The Margas series by Stockholm-based designer Louise Liljencrantz for &Tradition has been expanded with the introduction of a coordinating sofa and pouffe. As with the other pieces in the Margas series, the new sofa and pouffe have an organic shape, making them “interesting from every angle.”
Originally conceived for the residential project of a private client, the Margas three-seater sofa by Louise Liljencrantz attained its sculptural simplicity as a means to ensure it would be the centrepiece of its intended room.
The Margas lounge series from &Tradition has now grown from two complementary lounge chairs and a smaller two-seater sofa to a robust and cohesive offering with the addition of this three-seater sofa and matching pouffe.
Named for and inspired by Liljencrantz’s beloved grandmother Marga – who spent hours in her lounge chair by the window – the Margas lounge series has a softly flowing design and elegantly treads the line between playful and sophisticated.
Paying homage to her Scandinavian heritage, the lounge pieces a defined by warmth and softness as well as strong lines. The individual pieces within the Margas lounge series are built upon a solid beech wood curved frame and supported by squat wooden legs (oak or walnut); a swivel base is also an option for the sofas, lounge chairs and pouffe.
As for the Margas series pouffe, its strong character works as both a standalone piece and as part of a full assemblage of the series’ elements.
All the pieces in the Margas lounge series are available in a wide range of upholstery fabrics, including COM, and an optional removable cover allows for easy cleaning and updating.
