With the Memento collection of rugs for CC-Tapis, design studio Yabu Pushelberg has created a gracious and uniquely individual expression based on memory and allegorical characters.

Considering each of the seven rugs in the series as an “art piece for the floor,” the designers explored the fleeting and the familiar, and drew a relation between reality and a hazy dream world.

Hand-knotted by Tibetan artists, the Himalayan wool rugs capture the concept of in-between spaces, distorting time and space through hyperreal technicolour. Combining both dyed and undyed materials, the rugs feature delicate gradients and have been executed with flawless expertise.

With abstract shapes and patterns, the canvases introduce compelling and one-of-a-kind character to interior spaces and reference how memories themselves can be distorted, bent, reshaped and vulnerable.
