For its second collaboration with Theia Tiles, Italian architecture and design practice Studiopepe drew inspiration for the Milano collection from the vibrant city and diverse neighbourhoods of its home city, Milan.
Comprised of three individual tiles, the Milano tile collection for Theia Tiles by Studiopepe is an amalgamation of both contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship. Each of the three tiles is named after a unique Milanese district – Velasca, Sempione and Missori – and represents a visual exploration of the creative city’s original character.
The three motifs that comprise the Milano tile collection can be used individually to create impactful focal points or combined together to form seamless blends of material in refined interiors.
The Milano tile collection by Studiopepe is the first-ever offered by Theia Tiles in both terracotta and faiance (tin-glazed) and also introduces a radiant palette of colourways.
Each tile in the collection is three-dimensional and is a masterful fusing of high-quality design with impeccable craftsmanship; transcending conventional boundaries, the tiles can contribute to crafted spaces that harmonize artistry with functionality. Elevating a conventional decorative element, the Milano collection nods to the earth and embodies both the designers’ and manufacturers commitment to a sustainable future through the use of terracotta.
Sculpted and dimensional, the Milano tile collection pays homage to elegance, innovation and sustainability. The handmade ceramic Milano Velasca, Milano Sempione and Milano Missori tiles are each offered in 11 glazed colourways for the terracotta versions and 26 colourways for the faiance.
