One of two lamps designed by Italian design and architecture firm Romani Saccani Architetti Associati, the Mini Forest lamp from Multiforme is designed to showcase the beauty and magic of traditional Murano glass.
The Mini Forest lamp from Multiforme (along with the second lamp, Forestina) interprets the silhouette of a treetop as a stylized form atop a cylindrical metal base.
To enhance the effect of the light that is cast through the glass shade, the designers and manufacturer chose to utilize balloton glass-blowing: An ancient Venetian technique that creates a beautiful quilted or matelassé relief pattern on the surface, which is achieved by blowing molten glass into a specially designed metal mould that features criss-crossing pyramid points.
When turned on, the Mini Forest lamp emits a soft light that radiates outwards from the base and casts a playful shadow motif. The petite luminaire can also be used as a vase or vessel, with flowers and other objects viewed through the glass becoming a part of the sculptural effect.
The portable and rechargeable Mini Forest lamp from Multiforme is available with the balloton lampshade in six colour options — Crystal (Clear), plus the five pastel shades of Smoke, Straw, Aquamarine, Celeste and Rose. The cylindrical base of the lamp is made from opal white blown glass and is equipped with a touch dimmer to easily adjust the intensity of the illumination.
