Referencing the film-making technique of selecting, editing and splicing separate images to create a continuous whole, the Montage collection by Knoll Textiles stitches together new and existing designs with the introduction of three fresh patterns plus palette extensions for three classic and long-standing favourites.
A mid-scale geometric matelassé, Shadow Play features a two-layered pocket similar to seersucker that gives it a pleated and quilt-like appearance, while a subtle diagonal tie-down stitch softens the overall structure. Unique in depth and texture, the upholstery and wrapped panel fabric is woven with Clean Impact Textiles 100 per cent post-consumer recycled biodegradable polyester. Offered in 10 colourways.
The all-over multicolour textured Looped In is an intricate combination – a solid-coloured yarn in the warp and a cotton binder yarn, multicoloured high twist yarn and heavy boucle yarn in the weft – that creates an eye-catching mix of colour, surface interest, dimension and texture. Beautiful when seen from afar, the hints of colour are revealed when viewed up close. Offered in eight colourways.
Reminiscent of tech-inspired sportswear, Beeline polyester drapery panels are defined by a warp-knitted small honeycomb-shaped netting that gives it a casual yet sophisticated appearance. Offered in seven colourways.
The expansions, meanwhile, include five colourway additions to North Island from the Knoll Luxe series, bringing the total upholstery palette to twelve. Made from 98 per cent locally sourced wool, the tactile fabric also has an improved brush pill and abrasion results, making it even more suitable for commercial use. Meanwhile, Arezzo (inspired by the work of late fashion designer Alexander McQueen) is now offered in three additional hues, for seven total. Bunched by hand into varying peak levels, the velvet upholstery is then run under high-pressure jets that randomly spray four pre-selected inks the blend together in different values and weights.
Lastly, the weathered architecture-inspired Chiseled upholstery fabric has been updated with three more shades for a total of eight options; the 100 per cent polyester ground uses old-world Italian screen-printing techniques to achieve its deconstructed appearance.
