Inspired by the longevity of antique tableware and the intimacy of candlelight, the NG01 portable lamp from Volker Haug Studio is the Melbourne-based decorative lighting brand’s first portable fixture.
Initially conceived through a collaboration with Kerstin Thompson Architects for the National Gallery of Australia café, NG01 is a contemporary interpretation of a timeless object.
Distilling light to its most basic and elemental form, the NG01 is movable, precise and intimate and continues the studio’s continuous exploration of light and lighting. Slender yet statuesque, the fixture combines linear elements with geometric ones, creating a visually pleasing arrangement that complements any setting in which it finds itself.
The streamlined and rechargeable NG01 from Volker Haug Studio moves seamlessly from coffee table to shelf to bedside to dining table and makes for a captivating and considered presence in residential spaces, hospitality settings, workspaces, art galleries and other commercial venues.
With its minimalist design and lightweight quality, NG01 casts a soft and deliberate ambient glow and plays with the centuries-old act of carrying a controlled light source from one room to another.
NG01 from Volker Haug Studio is crafted from brass and can be finished in either polished brass or polished stainless steel; a USB-C charging cable is included.
