Valencia-based design studio Arnau Reyna created the soft and enveloping Owwi family of seating for Actiu to stand out visually while also offering a friendly spot to sit in corporate and contract spaces.
The first collaboration between Arnau Reyna and the Spanish brand, Owwi is defined by sinuous shapes and intricate upholstery work and aims to support social and collaborative work environments.
Comprised of an armchair and two-seater sofa with rounded forms and backrests that embrace the sitter, the collection adapts to the person to ensure comfort during prolonged lounging.
Wanting to elevate the details, the studio focused on traditional upholstery techniques and decided to incorporate a literal wrinkle in the design: The loose yet structured upholstery of the backrest forms the W shape for which the collection is named, and adds a dynamic element against the firm yet yielding seat cushions. Concise piping edging completes the tailored look.
Ergonomically sound, the backs are made from pine wood for support while the exposed steel frame expands upwards along the sides, adding another crafted detail. A wide range of upholstery options are available.
