A joint effort between Italian outdoor furniture-maker Ethimo and Treviso-based studio Zanellato/Bortotto, the Patio lounge and dining collection was conceived with inviting shapes and materials that support the body in a comforting embrace.
Inspired by traditional interior patios that are typical of the architecture of Spanish indoor-outdoor porticoes and loggias, the Patio collection is defined by a special arched weave that references baskets, trays and other everyday objects.
The graphic weave pattern is carried throughout all pieces in the collection and serves as a contrasting element to the natural beauty of the teak structures. Included on the lounge side of Patio are an armchair, three-seater sofa and daybed – all of which feature an elegant combination of durable outdoor rope in light grey with an arched weave in soft lagoon blue. Extra-plump seat cushions have a soft and inviting texture and are offered in a range of colourways, from sand and sea to shades found in Mediterranean flowers. A coffee table joins the group with a cylindrical base wrapped in the textured rope and topped by a lava stone surface in fog or moss green.
A super-comfy hammock rounds out the lounge portion of Patio, with a sturdy sling woven in a pattern that resembles undulating waves and nods to the typical swaying motion. The hammock is supported by an open-air frame made from steel cylinders and chunky wood feet.
On the dining side of Patio are two tables – one round (140-centimetres in diameter), one oval (200 by 120 centimetres) – and smaller armchairs that share the woven and teak language of the lounge elements. As with the coffee tables, the dining tables have bases that are wrapped in lagoon blue nautical rope and topped with dramatically swirled stone.
The Patio lounge and dining collection by Zanellato/Bortotto will be part of Ethimo’s 2025 outdoor collection and will bring relaxation, well-being and a sense of conviviality to residential spaces as well as contract and hospitality settings.
