The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

For its first collection of outdoor upholstery fabrics, the Denmark textile manufacturer Kvadrat collaborated with Copenhagen designer Karina Nielsen Rios. The result is a series of vibrant and versatile fabrics made from a specially developed Trevira CS yarn.

Fluorocarbon-free, water-repellent and fast-drying, Patio combines two coloured yarns in the warp and one in weft, with the fabrics appearing as either nearly monochrome or subtly textured.

Suitable for outdoors as well as high-humidity environments like spas and indoor pools, the upholstery fabric can also be used for screens, parasols and umbrellas.
