The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

The first small-sized table lamp in Pinch’s growing collection of lighting, Pium emits a pleasant glow through its organically shaped linen and banana leaf fibre shade.

The sculptural shape of the covering — inspired by the inner cavities of a poppy seed pod — results in recessed curves that, when illuminated, create a subtle play of shadow and light.

A traditional millinery material, banana leaf fibre is a sustainable by-product of the food industry that requires a minimal amount of water to harvest and no chemicals or dyes are added during its cultivation and processing. In the design for the Pium, it adds beautiful texture to the lamp, which can be used to accent the corner of a desk, as a bedside reading light or in other similar situations.

Also influenced by nature, the lamp’s well-proportioned pillar base is made from solid FSC-certified European oak. Clusters of small knots and pronounced graining are visible on the surface, adding to the elemental character of the fixture.
