Commercial flooring company Matter Surfaces has launched the Play collection to address the special requirements and needs of athletic and fitness spaces.
The 11 flooring options within the Play collection combine sleek and streamlined looks with the necessary durability and functionality for ultra-performance in such high-traffic settings as weight rooms, locker rooms, pools and more.
Materials used in the collection include rubber, multipurpose vinyl, solutions specific to wet areas and protected wood-looks.
Providing shock absorption, slip resistance and the ability to withstand heavy weights, options like the Activation Sport Tile, Combination Sport Tile, Decathlon and Domination are offered in a range of colourways and also feature a waffle backing that contributes to noise reduction in the busy spaces. They are also spike and blade resistant.
Multipurpose variants that are suitable for a range of spaces include Woodflex, which boasts the natural look of maple, oak and camaru (teak) and has antibacterial properties, and the complementary Gameflex, a synthetic multipurpose gym floor available in blue, green, navy, orange, teal and grey.
Both are low-maintenance and have a combined foam back that provides shock absorbency and a stable construction for ball rebounding, making it an ideal choice for ball sports like basketball courts (as well as for gymnasiums, dance studios and fitness centres).
Recommended for locker rooms and pool decks, the easy-to-install SaniPath and Ducktile options are anti-slip, anti-microbial and anti-fungal and offered in a range of colours, while the Precision Inlay and Pro Shield elements provide opportunities for customization with team logos and other designs.
